Osteopathy

What is osteopathy?

Osteopathy is a method of care based on manual techniques, aimed at maintaining or restoring the mobility of the body’s various structures.

Every body has the capacity for self-healing, and the osteopath helps support that process. The goal is to identify and treat mobility restrictions that may affect all the structures of the human body.

Who is it for?

Infants, children, adults and seniors alike: osteopathic techniques are adapted to each patient according to their age and build.

What can it help with?

Osteopathy addresses all the major systems of the body: musculoskeletal, thoracic, digestive, urinary, gynecological, neurological and post-traumatic.

What happens during
a session?

Initial consultation

Connects your history with the reason for your visit.

Assessment

Assesses through tests the areas of the body that move the least. Restricted movement may point to an area of reduced function.

Treatment

Carried out with gentle techniques adapted to the person and to their reason for consulting.

And afterwards?

The body needs 48 to 72 hours to integrate the information provided by the session. It is recommended to avoid any exertion during this time to optimize the effects of the session.

“Osteopathy is a science, an art and a philosophy.”

— Andrew Taylor Still

A few words about my osteopathy journey

I graduated in 2012 after six years of training at the Institut Supérieur d’Ostéopathie de Lyon (France), which taught me to adapt techniques to the reason for consultation, age and build of each person. I have been practising in Montreal, Quebec since 2017.

“Our pains speak through words”

I combine my passions (rugby, squash, running) with osteopathy, supporting athletes at various sports clubs and events to optimize performance and recovery. Thanks to this, I have observed the influence and importance of the mind in therapeutic care.

I gained experience helping people with both acute and chronic pain while working with a home-visit osteopathy service (Urgences Ostéopathiques).

Throughout my career I keep refining a humanistic and holistic (whole-person) approach based on listening and communication. Trust and sharing are at the heart of my practice, which is open to everyone.

I really liked it, you always find the right words and really paint a picture of what you mean. It is always clear.

I felt a lot of peace and great trust, Baptiste's words were clear and reassuring. His voice was not the same as usual, nor was his way of expressing himself. Clear and precise words. Everything that mattered was said.

This clinic was recommended to me by a friend, just like Baptiste, and I can only recommend him in turn if you are looking for an osteopath. I had two sessions with him and each time I left feeling lighter and more relaxed, with much less back pain. The explanations and exercises given are clear. The place is pleasant and has a tea room, which is a nice bonus to the relaxing experience.

Baptiste Georges is an excellent osteopath. Attentive, gentle, passionate and very skilled. Leaving a session with him means taking care of your body, but also of your mind. I highly recommend him.

Baptiste is a miracle worker. For 3 weeks, I had very severe sciatic nerve pain… a single session with him solved the problem. A second one stabilized my back. He listens, is very professional, and the place is very welcoming. I recommend him without hesitation.

Baptiste is exceptionally professional. His gentleness and precision brought quick results in my case, relieving my pain within a week and after two sessions. There is also a human side that shines through in these people: when I asked Baptiste for extra sessions and he did not see the point, he suggested I not take more and follow a few exercises he taught me. This reflects their integrity and their concern for the patient rather than easy money. I strongly recommend this place and these wonderful people. You will not regret your experience!

I have been seeing Baptiste for several years and I am very satisfied with his work. Besides being a skilled professional, he is also very friendly. More than once, he relieved my recurring pain related to sport or poor work posture, combining gentle deep work with something a little more intense when needed. And in those cases, his good humour and his listening make the more intense sessions easier to get through. I regularly recommend him to my friends who are looking for an osteopath.
